CROS Hearing Aids

CROS (Contralateral Routing of Signal) hearing aids are specialized hearing solutions designed for people with single-sided deafness (SSD) or very little usable hearing in one ear. In this system, a microphone placed on the non-hearing ear picks up sound and wirelessly transmits it to a hearing aid worn on the better-hearing ear.

Unlike traditional hearing aids, CROS systems do not amplify sound in the poorer ear. Instead, they route sound to the good ear, helping the user hear conversations and environmental sounds coming from the side with hearing loss. This significantly improves sound awareness, speech understanding, and overall balance in everyday listening situations.
